During Orchard Week we have been thinking about Charles Darwins, the famous scientist.

We are starting to learn a little bit about the famous scientist as part of our Animals topic.  When we went into the Orchard we decided to carry out two of his investigations to see what types of plants and wildlife are living in our Orchard.  The first investigation was to use sticky sticks to collect natural objects that had fallen to the ground.  The children picked up leaves, feathers, seeds, petals and bark.  They then worked in pairs to lay white pieces of fabric underneath plants and trees, they shook the plant or tree to see if anything fell from it.  We found insects, petals, seeds and leaves.
