Y4/5 have had exciting lessons working with a tutor in China, via video conferencing. The children were enthralled by pictures of life in China and they have all learned how to greet someone politely using their name in mandarin and say how they are feeling.

“It was amazing to see China…now I’ve seen it I want to go.”

“It was an amazing experience.” “It was amazing to be in contact with someone half way around the world.”

Bikeability-what a brilliant experience!

Today we were awesome. Learning outdoors, enjoying exercise and learning how to be safe.

Phil Bateman- Olympian cyclist-taught us how to control our bikes at slow and fast paces as well as learning how to perform a controlled emergency stop.

We had the opportunity to tackle ramps and it was a close competition when it came to bike limbo. Well done to Oscar and Thomas, that was amazing.

This term we will be developing our running, jumping and throwing skills. We have measured our current personal bests and are aiming to improve our fitness and techniques so we can ‘be the best that we can be’.

Discus and hammer are tricky but we know we will master them.

We have been learning about Salvador Dali and studying his painting "Ship with butterfly sails."

We have learned that Dali was inspired by dreams and used everyday objects and living things in very unusual ways. Inspired by hs surrealist style and his ship we have created 3D artwork of butterflies and surrealist butterflies.

We are very proud of what we have achieved and are looking forward to the art exhibition later this term.029
