We are currently looking to increase the staffing for our Early Years unit. We are looking to appoint  hardworking,  conciensous individuals  to work within the team to lead the before and after school provision and to support teaching and learning in the EYFS unit. You must be committed to following a creative, child centred approach to teaching and learning and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You would work alongside an established motivated and supportive Early Years Team, led by our Deputy Head teacher .Athelstan School is a friendly, warm and welcoming school, there is a strong family and inclusive ethos, where teamwork is highly valued and the role of the individual within the team is respected.

You must:

  • Be an outstanding candidate
  • Be fully up to date with current EYFS best practice in teaching and assessment.
  • Be an excellent team player contributing to the foundation stage as a whole
  • Be confident in communicating positively with parents, and all other stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Be hardworking and willing to contribute to the whole school ethos
  • Ensure that all children attending the setting receive a creative, inspiring and stimulating learning environment with high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences both indoors and outdoors.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the provision of good quality childcare
  • An understanding of food hygiene rules
  • Health & safety knowledge, including lifting and handling and fire prevention
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of healthy eating
  • Have a sense of fun!
