Who are we and what do we do?

The Athelstan Parents' and Supporters' Association (APSA) are a group of parents, school staff and people from the local community. The group’s main aim is to raise funds to buy ‘little extras’ for school. Funds are raised in a variety of ways e.g. through events such as discos, family night, pamper evenings, Christmas fair, etc. The Friends also meet to consider requests for funds from staff and pupils. The Friends give up their valuable time but always do their best, often under difficult circumstances to make a difference to the children at school.

We aim to:

- Develop effective relationships between the school, parents and carers and the community

- Arrange events and activities that raise funds for equipment and projects in school

- Organise social events for the enjoyment of pupils, their families/carers and the wider community

APSA provides opportunities for parents and carers to contribute to their child's school experience by volunteering to organise or take part in a variety of events and activities that raise funds for the school.

If you haven't already done so please join the APSA Facebook Page so we can keep in touch about APSA events and you can have your say on important issues like how the money is spent.  Also look out for our Yellow newsletters coming home in book bags!
