We had a good response to the 'Grow a Pound' letters that were sent to families and the children should now have received their pounds. We hope the children have great fun coming up with creative ways to grow their pounds and look forward to hearing all about it!

We are really pleased to be able to share some fantastic news with you all! We have received confirmation from Elmet Lions of a £1000 donation towards our new playground. This is an amazing amount and sets us off towards our £10,000 target. We are hugely grateful to the lions as I'm sure you all are too! Thankyou very much

A huge thank you to all the families that bought a lotto number. We can confirm that we raised £315.00 towards the new playground equipment from the lotto sales.. Good luck to everyone who has a number.Winners will be drawn in assembly every month.

Our next event will be the fabulous Dicky Bow Disco on Thursday 3rd November. Can we just remind parents and carers that as the number of children in school has increased we will be having three separate discos instead of two, in order to accommodate the increased numbers. Hence the traditional timings have therefore now changed slightly.

Disco 1  3:00-3:45pm   Puddles and Sunshines FS1+ FS2 (parents do need to stay)

Disco 2  4:00-4:45pm  KS1  Year 1 and 2 (parents do not need to stay)

Disco 3  5:00-6:00pm  KS2   Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 (parents do not need to stay)

Tickets will be on sale from 17th October priced £2.00 each. Can we please take this opportunity to ask for volunteers to help at any of the disco times as shown above. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can organise a fun filled fundraising event or leave your name at the school office. Without your support these events will struggle to take place. Finally a huge thank you for your continued support

Thank you to all those children who entered the Roald Dahl colouring competition, it looks like Athelstan have some very talented artist... watch out Quentin Blake!

The Friends of Athelstan would like to wish a warm welcome to our new parents and welcome back to those who are returning. We have a big aim of raising around £10000 this academic year so that we can fund new wooden play equipment for our Key Stage 2 children.

The Friends of Athelstan hosted a great fundraising event at the school and raised a total of £900.00. The school would like to thank the friends for their hard work in organising the event and for all their efforts in making it a great success.
